The Hepatobilliary and Pancreatic Surgery and Transplantology Department at Military Medical Academy Sofia MMA was established 
in 2003 and is specialized in operative hepatic and pancreatic surgery with a large and very high degree of complexity,
as well as all modern interventions in the field of visceral surgery in laparoscopic or classic method.
In 2007, the clinic started a national liver transplant program, with more than 60 successful liver transplants performed since then.
On May 17, 2017, 10 years since the first transplantations of liver in the MMA.

The Clinic of HPB Surgery and Transplantology works under contract with the National Health and Privet Insurance Funds,
as well as military contingent - soldiers, officers and employees of the Ministry of Defense.

Our Clinic is Basic trainig center of Laparoscopic surgery for deseases of the gall bladder, liver, pancreas, spleen, stomach, 
small intestine, colon, diaphragmatic (hiatal) hernia, diagnostic laparoscopy, and others.
